Sammy Ogunjimi (GMD/CEO – CODIX Group)

Graduated from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) in 1987 with BSc. (Hons) Industrial Chemistry and worked with a Lagos based chemical as a Production Supervisor before travelling to the United Kingdom in 1990.

He completed his MSc in Analytical Chemistry at University of Greenwich, London in 1996, immediately after which he began his pharmaceutical sales career with Pharmacia & UpJohn, Janssen Cilag and finally with Merck Pharmaceuticals (all in the United Kingdom) in various roles including, territory manager, Regional Development Manager and Senior Regional Business Manager (a position he held for 5 years heading the London Business). He won among many other awards the prestigious Merck’s ‘2006 Best Regional Business Manager Award’.

Sammy is the founder & Group Managing Director of Codix Group (Codix Pharma (Nigeria) Limited in 2008, Codix Healthcare (Ghana) Limited in 2013, Codix Healthcare (Sierra Leone) Limited in 2017 and Codix Pharma (UK) Limited in 2018, employing over 70 staff worldwide. Codix Pharma Limited is one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria with over 50 NAFDAC registered products.

He is also the founder and Executive Vice-Chairman of The Colexa Group of Manufacturing Companies (comprising of Colexa Biosensor (Nigeria) Limited, Colexa Healthcare (Nigeria) Limited and Colexa Pharmaceuticals (Nigeria) Limited).

Was made a Honourary Pharmacist & Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria in 2017 in recognition of his contribution to the Pharmaceutical Industry. He is currently the Vice President, Nigerian Representatives of Overseas Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (NIROPHARM).

Sammy serves on several boards of companies and organisations including Zamog Limited and Ultra Logistics Limited and he is a Pioneer member & Trustee of Triumphant Church International, UK.

Sammy is the current President of The Collectives Club, Sagamu, and a member of Remo Growth & Development Foundation, where he serves as the Head of the Health Directorate.

A member of the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK, Royal Society of Chemistry UK and Britain Nigeria Association (BNA).

Sammy is happily married to Elizabeth, his wife of 25 years and are both blessed with a son, Oluwatobiloba.
